'Slave 僕' Puyuma name historically for the Amis ? (Anthropology Note 279)

Pu' 本 means Taiwan. (Page 51)

"As such, the Puyuma name for the Amis was historically Papian meaning slave" - I have said this hypothetical etymology is the weirdest! See HERE (Note 183).

But I didn't have the evidence (origin of source) until last week! (1935 reports borrowed from my neighbor!)

Pu' 本 means Taiwan. (1935 page 51).
NOT Pu' 僕 means Slave.(2000)

70 years later - hypothetical etymologies go a bit wild!
